On Giving Tuesday, Support What You Value

Now that the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are behind us, it's time to celebrate Giving Tuesday.  

This time of year, I like to reflect on my core values that are the backbone of Firefly Community LLC and whether the programs I have in place are in alignment with those values. These values, and how they show up now and into 2025, are as follows:

• Community – Community is in the name of the company for a reason. I believe that being in community supports its members in being authentic, and living their passion and purpose because they have support and a sense of belonging. Firefly offers seasonal half-day retreats to bring people together. Our next one is the Half-Day Silent Retreat in Evergreen, Colorado scheduled for Saturday, March 1. Sign up for $59 here.

• Connection – Firefly values helping you connect to yourself, others, nature, and food. Through our retreats, I aim to provide participants with opportunities to connect with other people, get out in nature, and improve their relationship with what nourishes them. • Compassion and Kindness – We believe that all beings are worthy of attention and affirmation. Being kind and compassionate starts with the self. Our online workshops are designed to support self-care. • Curiosity, Open-Mindedness and Love of Learning - I love exploring new ideas, activities and experiences, and have a strong desire to increase my knowledge. I have a passion for learning, and know that many of Firefly's clients do too. I'm excited to be offering a two-part series on the five koshas (layers of self) online via Zoom on Tuesdays, February 18 and 25. Register for the series for $49 here.

• Zest and Passion for Life and Work – I approach life in general with excitement and energy. I wholeheartedly believe in the work that I do and love helping others plan and design transformational retreats so there are more opportunities available to people. I offer a two-part Plan Your First Retreat Workshop for other yoga teachers. The next session of this workshop is March 21 and 28, 2025. • Social Responsibility and Sustainability – Firefly believes in operating in a way that benefits society, supports and protects rights for all, and minimizes our impact on the environment. I strive to select eco-conscious providers when planning my retreats. I'm proud that both four-star resorts that we'll be staying at on the Adventure Retreat to the Azores are committed to reducing their environmental impact and to preserving the natural wonders surrounding them.

In addition to my annual review of my values and programs, I'll be making contributions to some of my favorite charitable organizations over the next few weeks. May the spirit of giving bring you joy this holiday season.
