How are you?

We've been closed up for awhile - at least 15 months due to COVID. But now as the world begins to reopen and welcomes us back into the presence of others, I wonder, how are you doing?

Seriously, are you ok? Going into quarantine was a huge shift, and now we're facing another big transition as we return to "normal."

Now is a good time to remember that life is full of ups and downs, ebb and flow. I read somewhere recently, "nature and people have a lot in common - such as roots, pruning, healing, nurturing, growth, patterns, seasons, good foundational soil."

Maybe you've changed in the past 15 months. You may be healing from the loss of a loved one. You may have been uprooted due to the loss or change of a job or home. Perhaps you made a decision about how you want to live your life differently than you were before, and are in a stage of nurturing or growth.

Whatever state you are in, you may be experiencing difficulty with internal or external limitations, boundaries, or expectations. Old memories, current or past wounds may be causing internal conflict between what you accept about yourself and things that you reject. Or things that you wish for versus things you dread.

If you've changed in ways that are difficult for those around you to accept, their expectations may be challenging boundaries that you're trying to implement or maintain.

Be gentle with yourself, and those around you, during this time of transition. We're all doing the best that we can at this moment. Have patience and compassion, and remember that all change takes time.
